Have any questions?## FAQ - Insurance

Which insurance policies are compulsory for a business in Switzerland? Your insurance obligations depend on your company's legal form and whether or not you have employees.

For the 1st pillar (AVS/AI/APG), registering with a compensation fund is compulsory in all cases, whether you are self-employed or a salaried director of your own SA or Sàrl.

If you set up an SA or a Sàrl, you are legally considered an employee of your own company. The social insurance schemes linked to your salary therefore become compulsory: accident insurance (LAA), covering occupational accidents from the first hour of work and non-occupational accidents once you work a certain number of hours per week, and occupational pension provision (LPP) as soon as your salary exceeds the statutory entry threshold.

If you operate as a sole proprietorship, LPP and LAA remain optional for yourself, although strongly recommended to avoid any gap in cover. As soon as you hire your first employee, however, both become compulsory for that employee, whatever your company's legal form.

Helvate works with you to identify the compulsory insurance that applies to your status and structure, so your business is protected from day one.

How does the insurance comparison work? At Helvate, we don't just compare rates. We analyse your situation, your needs and your level of cover to identify the most relevant solutions among 34 companies.

Premiums, deductibles, insurance models and benefits are examined closely to help you make an informed decision.

What types of insurance are compared? Helvate supports you across all your insurance needs, with a comprehensive, personalised approach. Health, pension planning, assets and protection for your daily life or your business: we centralise your needs with a single point of contact.

- Health & pension planning: LAMal, LCA supplementary cover and LAA accident insurance
- Protecting your assets: liability, home and legal protection insurance
- Mobility: vehicle insurance tailored to your use and profile
- Businesses: protection solutions designed for the self-employed and companies

Is the support free? Yes. Reviewing your situation, comparing solutions and our recommendation are entirely free, with no obligation.

Helvate is remunerated by its partner insurance companies, with no effect on the amount of your premiums. Our remuneration model is presented to you transparently before you take out any policy, in line with applicable legal requirements.

You therefore benefit from personalised, transparent support with no advisory fees.

How much can I save on my LAMal? The amount you can save depends on your canton, your deductible, your insurance model and your personal situation. A precise analysis of these factors can significantly reduce your premium without compromising the quality of your cover.

Helvate compares the different options (deductible, family doctor model, HMO or Telmed) to identify the most relevant balance between cost, freedom of choice and level of cover.

Thanks to our annual follow-up, your cover can be reassessed over time to stay aligned with your situation.

Do you handle switches and cancellations? Yes. Helvate handles all the steps involved in switching insurance, from cancellation through to setting up your new cover. We ensure deadlines are met, coordinate effective dates and check every step to avoid any gap in cover or double insurance.

You benefit from end-to-end support, with the peace of mind of knowing every detail is taken care of.
